We're proud to show you the room first! Our guest rooms are tastefully decorated, well appointed and feature Sealy Posturepedic Pillowtop Mattresses, fine linens and fluffy towels. You'll love your stay!

Owner/operator, Rich Havlik, is typically at the front desk to greet and serve you upon arrival. He's a Route 66 enthusiast who has a deep passion for preserving the history and culture of the Mother Road. He wants your stay at the Safari to be a highlight of your road trip.

Staying in a classic motel is an awesome and unique experience. While chain hotels may offer lots of extras that many guests never use, they can't give you the nostalgia and community that comes with a vintage motor court. Come see for yourself! 

Please note that all rooms are non-smoking, and we do not allow pets. Also, Tucumcari is on Mountain Time, so if you're traveling west, make sure to set your watch back one hour and remember that check-in begins at 3:00pm Mountain Time.

Jiffy Pop started in 1958? 

The Motel Safari was built in 1959. 

Coincidence? Yes, a total coincidence.

But, since these two things happened so close to each other, we are now offering Jiffy Pop to guests and families that are hanging out on the patio and are enjoying the fire pit.
